Yes, 2/05i. Having launched to the 205 to widespread acclaim Peugeot decided to do a GTI as it worked so well for VW.
The GTI arrived in 1984 with a 105 hp 1.6, later it got a heady 115 and afterwards there was a 1.9 which had a longer stroke and 130 hp. The 1.6 in particular was hugely successful for a time and PSA have never quite been able to make something with the same appeal again.
Increasing emissions rules meant an end to the 1.6 in 1992 while the 1.9 kept going for another year or two.
